Protecting your ideas… Protecting your future

History
Our Minneapolis law firm, Schroeder & Siegfried, P.A., was founded in 1960 and has been providing superior intellectual property services to businesses and individuals continuously ever since. Everett Schroeder, the founding member of Schroeder & Siegfried, P.A., practiced previously for 10 years as a partner in the early preeminent intellectual property law firm of  Williamson, Williamson, Schroeder & Adams. Kenneth Siegfried, a long-time partner and highly valued member of our firm passed away in 1986. Brian Schroeder, the current managing partner of Schroeder & Siegfried, P.A., joined our firm in 1987.

After being located in downtown Minneapolis for 45 years, our firm recently opened a new office in Wayzata, a Twin Cities suburb. Here, with our highly experienced, competent attorneys and staff, we employ the latest electronic communications and research technology to provide world-wide service and legal representation to our intellectual property clients. Our firm has been continuously rated “AV” under Martindale Hubbell’s Peer Review Rating™ process in excess of 40 years*. The AV rating is the top peer review rating recognizing the highest level of legal skill and integrity. Everett Schroeder received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Brian Schroeder is a Juris Doctor graduate from Hamline University School of Law. Brian and Everett are also members of many legal associations, including the Hennepin County Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association

Practice
Our practice is devoted exclusively to intellectual property law. Our attorneys provide comprehensive search and opinion services for a wide range of intellectual property issues. In addition, we serve our clients by preparing, filing and successfully arguing the allowability of patent and trademark applications, conducting due diligence investigations, and representing our clients in patent, trademark, copyright and all other intellectual property disputes. While we strive to avoid litigation where possible, when necessary, we provide effective and competent litigation as an essential part of our legal representation. Finally, we counsel our clients on the proper management of corporate intellectual property portfolios so as to maximize the extent of their protection and minimize the risk of infringement. Our intellectual property clients are individuals as well as corporations.

Firm Philosophy
Because we are a small firm, we are able to provide dedicated personalized legal service to all of our clients. We operate efficiently and effectively, which allows us to maintain a reasonable fee structure. We strive to return all phone calls promptly within the same day. Our philosophy is to avoid costly litigation whenever possible. To do this, we work to develop alternative creative solutions to avoid costly and time-consuming litigation.
